The Fraser valley is an hours drive from Vancouver and is British Columbia\u2019s most important farming region, know for being the \u201cBerry capital of Canada. \u201d There is plenty to do from spending an afternoon at a local vineyards, orchard, or farm to plenty of outdoor actives like fishing, hiking, and biking. There is something for everyone in the Fraser Valley!<\/p>\n

Eat<\/h5>\n

Abbotsford \u2013 Restaurant 62<\/strong> (restaurant62.ca) features hearty farm fare such as pork belly and duck breast, with ingredients sourced from the surrounds. Bow & Stern<\/strong> (bowandstern.ca) matches ales with \u201ccomfort\u201d seafood such as lobster mac and cheese, or steamed clams with fries. Head to Duft & Co<\/strong>. (duftandco.com) if you are craving something sweet. Get there early though, they are known for some of the best baking in town and sell out quick!<\/p>\n

Langley<\/strong> \u2013 If you\u2019re after sweetness, don\u2019t go past Fort Langley\u2019s Blacksmith Bakery<\/strong> (blacksmithbakery.ca) for tarts, pecan brownies and caramel cheesecakes, or Ritual Ice Cream<\/strong> (ritualicecream.com) for crepes and maple-walnut ice cream.<\/p>\n

Chillwack \u2013 Old Yale Brewing<\/strong> (oldyalebrewing.com) in the heart of their Brewery is their Back Porch Tasting Room where you can head for delicious food and great craft beer.<\/p>\n

Abbotsford<\/strong> \u2013 Head to Field House Brewing<\/strong> (Fieldhousebrewing.com) to enjoy their craft beer, local food, and great music. It\u2019s a great place to gather with friends and family!<\/p>\n

Langley \u2013 Trading Post Brewery & Eatery<\/strong> (tradingpostbrewing.com) Come for the food and stay for their beer, Trading Post with three different locations across the valley to serve you!<\/p>\n

Do<\/h5>\n

Chilliwack<\/strong> \u2013 The 60-metre waterfall in Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park<\/strong> (env.gov.bc.ca) is impressive and makes for a good trip. If you want a hike to get the heart pumping but wont take to long try Lindaman Lake (env.gov.bc). The trail is well kept and the view of the lake at the top is rewarding!<\/p>\n

Hope \u2013 The Othello Tunnels<\/strong> (env.gov.bc.ca) follows the spectacular course of a disused 1890s railway line through tunnels and across trestle bridges that span the river. Few walks this easy provide such dramatic surrounds.<\/p>\n

Langley<\/strong> \u2013 There are many trails around Langley, a popular one being the Pepin Brook Trail<\/strong> at Aldergrove Lake Park. Wide with a stroller friendly path \u2013 this trail is good for all ages!<\/p>\n
